Barbecue Secrets

Review of Barbecue Secrets Revealed by Randy Pryor

I’ve found Randy Pryor’s E-book “Barbecue Secrets Revealed” is the best barbecue book I’ve ever read, it is packed with useful tips, advice about getting the right barbecue grill, and over 100 easy to follow recipes that have already transformed my barbecues and got the whole town talking. They all want to know my secret!

Whether you want to know how to prepare pork, how to select the right ribs or how to get that great smoky flavor from a gas barbecue grill (seriously, it works!) then this is a book you should read.

Randy puts everything into very simple terms, no special skills are needed, anyone can learn how to become a barbecue king with the expert knowledge Randy has received from a retired Kentucky restaurant owner. It is all here, knowing when your meat is done, the right temperature for your barbecue grill, how to create a delicious barbecue sauce for each choice of meat, the most amazing (and I do mean amazing) tasting barbecue chicken.

I could not put this e-book down, I tried a few recipes the following day and my friends and neighbors could not believe that a guy who was famous locally for hisburnt offerings could now create such succulent food.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to have successful and popular barbecues.

Barbecue Season is just beginning: Are you ready?

Barbecue Grill Season

Summer time is quickly approaching. Spring and warmth are in the air and on almost any given day, unless you live in the middle of nowhere, you can catch the fragrance of barbecue from some neighbor’s barbecue grill. A barbecue grill for some is only for weekends, which makes the grill one of the most underutilized appliances many of us own. The fact is any night is a great night for a barbecue.

One thing I have found in my years of cook out and barbecue experience is that the barbecue grill is a very versatile tool for cooking. With a little creativity you can do all kinds of things with a barbecue grill. One of my favorite things to do is try out a new barbecue recipe. First of all, I love barbecue sauce and will try it on most anything. It’s actually quite good on baked potatoes and as a dip for grilled vegetables. Barbecue sauce even makes a great dip for grilled chicken, steak, sausage, and kabobs.

I’ll share one of our favorite family recipes with you. First of all, for excellent kabobs and getting the kids involved, have a make your own kabob night for the family. Provide plenty of vegetables (green and red peppers, mushrooms, and onions work well), fruit (we tend to stick with apple chunks and pineapple but you can get as creative as you would like), and the meat of your choice (some suggestions would be beef, chicken, sausage, and shrimp). We tend to have a selection of barbecue sauce, teriyaki sauce, or A1 steak sauce but you can chose your very own favorite to add to your selection. The kids love it because they can not only build their own kabob but are allowed choices (healthy ones at that) in what they have for dinner. My six year old likes to play with the sticks after dinner; he thinks they make great pretend swords.

Of course with any of the recipes you find for good barbecue, you can make variations to suit your family’s tastes. Some will add onions, mushrooms, peppers, and all kinds of things or take things out that your family or a member of the family doesn’t like. But for me, the absolute best thing about a barbecue is that there are no rules, just great food and a little imagination.

Barbecue Grill Cure for Winter Blues

Barbecue Grill

If you are anything like me, you are probably very ready to shake off the last vestiges of winter and announce loudly and proudly that spring is indeed here. My favorite way to do that is to have a barbecue. The very act of getting out the grill and digging out my favorite barbecue recipe puts me in the summertime frame of mind. I’m also always on the lookout for new recipes to add to my collection so I am generally quite eager to try out all the new recipes I’ve collected over the winter.

There are several reasons why my family and I enjoy a good barbecue so much, not the least of which is that I generally don’t have to do all the cooking. What can I say? I like to share the wealth when it comes to household work and everyone is fairly cooperative as far as chipping in on the cook out chores. Another great thing about having a barbecue verses cooking in the kitchen is that as utility bills rise to astronomical new heights, you can save on the cost not only of actually cooking but cooling the house as you cook. It is much more costly to cool a house when you are warming it up at the same time, trust me on this. I love to cook and don’t want to give up good food simply because it’s just too hot to cook inside the house. Having a barbecue is a great way to have great food, and be comfortable enough to eat it too.

Many families reserve barbecues for the weekend. Whatever your reason for doing this, stop. Barbecues are excellent any night of the week. They do not have to be massively complicated events, it can be something as simple as putting barbecue sauce on smocked sausage or shaking some seasoning salt on chicken breasts. You can quite easily make your barbecue grill your most used appliance during the summer months. An excellent barbecue is only limited by your personal creativity or your stock of good recipes for the barbecue grill. All you need is a good barbecue recipe and a barbecue sauce for all occasions.

Whether shaking off the wintertime blues or looking for great ways to beat the heat this summer, a barbecue is a great way to go. Arm yourself with some great recipes, some barbecue sauce, and see how jealous your neighbors will be.
